Overview

High-Volume Hot Water. Lower Energy Costs.

Venus Commercial Heat Pump Water Heaters deliver energy-efficient hot water for hotels, hospitals, hostels, resorts and other commercial establishments. Harness heat from the surrounding air to reduce electricity consumption and manage operating costs.

Applications

Commercial Heat Pump Solutions for Centralised Hot Water

Commercial establishments often require substantial quantities of hot water throughout the day. Conventional electric or fuel-based heating can result in significant energy costs, particularly where demand is continuous or concentrated during peak hours.

Venus Commercial Heat Pump Water Heaters use an air-source heat pump system to extract heat from the surrounding air and transfer it to water. Since the system transfers available heat rather than relying entirely on direct electrical heating, it can provide hot water with lower electricity consumption under suitable operating conditions.

Designed for integration with appropriately sized storage tanks and hot-water distribution systems, Venus commercial heat pumps can support centralised hot-water requirements in hospitality, healthcare and institutional settings. System capacity, storage volume and circulation arrangements can be selected according to the building's occupancy, daily demand and peak consumption.

The result is a more energy-conscious approach to commercial hot-water management, with the potential for meaningful long-term operating-cost savings.

Heat pump water heaters are highly energy efficient as most of the energy for heating comes from the external environment, and only a fraction comes from electricity. Thus for 1kW electricity consumed the heat transferred will be 4kW. The amount of electrical energy needed to heat water is greatly reduced compared to a conventional electric water heater in which, for 1kW electricity consumed the heat transferred is only 1kW. Thus in heat pump water heaters the coefficient of performance (ratio of output power to input power) can be as high as 4.

Unique Features

HOW DOES A HEAT PUMP WORK

Major components of a heat pump water heater include a compressor, refrigerant, two heat exchangers (a condenser and an evaporator), and an expansion valve.

Working Principle

The operation begins with air being forced through an evaporator, which contains a liquid refrigerant, with the help of a fan.
This refrigerant evaporates into a gas and extracts heat from the ambient air.
The warm gaseous refrigerant then passes through the compressor, which increases its pressure and converts it into a hot gas.
This hot gas enters a heat exchanger (condenser) and transfers its heat to the water inside a storage tank.
The refrigerant cools down in the condenser and becomes a warm liquid.
It then passes through an expansion valve, where it becomes a cool liquid and enters the evaporator again.
The cycle is then repeated continuously.
Hot-water recirculation using a pump and controller ensures instant hot water at fixtures by continuously circulating water through the pipes, reducing wait time and conserving water.

FAQ

Any Question? Can We Help You.

A commercial heat pump water heater uses heat from the surrounding air to heat water for establishments with substantial hot-water requirements. It is commonly used in hotels, hospitals, hostels, resorts, spas and institutional buildings.

A commercial heat pump transfers heat from ambient air to water through a refrigeration cycle. Since it transfers heat rather than generating all the heat directly from electricity, it can deliver more thermal energy per unit of electricity consumed than a conventional electric resistance water heater.

The required capacity depends on daily hot-water consumption, peak-hour demand, inlet-water temperature, desired outlet temperature, available storage and recovery time. A project assessment is recommended to determine the appropriate system capacity.

Yes. A properly designed centralised hot-water system can supply multiple bathrooms and outlets. The heat pump capacity, storage tanks, piping, circulation system and peak demand must be considered together to ensure reliable hot-water delivery.

Yes. Commercial heat pump systems can be designed to meet hot-water demand throughout the day, provided they are correctly sized and equipped with adequate storage and recovery capacity. Actual performance depends on operating conditions and the installation design.

Energy savings depend on the existing heating system, electricity tariffs, hot-water consumption, ambient conditions and system efficiency. Comparing the expected energy consumption of a commercial heat pump with the existing heating system can help estimate potential operating-cost savings.

Yes. Air-source heat pumps use heat from the surrounding air and do not depend on direct sunlight. Their performance varies with ambient air temperature and humidity and must remain within the operating limits specified for the selected model.
